Cancún, one of Mexico’s most vibrant and internationally renowned destinations, will host the 1st Panamerican Open Gymnastics Championship between 18–22 October 2025. This historic event, organized under the umbrella of the Down Syndrome International Gymnastics Organisation (DSIGO), marks the very first Panamerican Open Championship dedicated to athletes with Down syndrome in gymnastics.
The championship will bring together gymnasts from across North, Central, and South America — as well as invited international athletes — creating an inspiring platform where talent, perseverance, and inclusivity come together. Over the course of five days, participants will showcase their skills in artistic gymnastics, performing routines that highlight both their athletic ability and artistic expression.
More than a competition, the 1st Panamerican Open Gymnastics Championship will serve as a celebration of diversity, equality, and the unifying spirit of sport. By giving athletes with Down syndrome the opportunity to compete internationally, the event strengthens the global movement for inclusive sports while also raising awareness of the athletes’ remarkable potential.
Set in Cancún, with its tropical atmosphere and world-famous hospitality, the championship promises not only outstanding sporting performances but also an unforgettable cultural experience for all participants and supporters.
This milestone event will lay the foundation for future Panamerican championships, further expanding opportunities for gymnasts with Down syndrome and reinforcing the mission of DSIGO to promote excellence, inclusion, and international collaboration in sport.
