From 19–26 March 2024, Antalya proudly hosted the Trisome Games, one of the world’s largest international sporting events for athletes with Down syndrome.
Often referred to as the “Olympics for athletes with Down syndrome,” the Trisome Games brought together thousands of athletes, coaches, and supporters, with competitions in a wide range of sports including athletics, swimming, gymnastics, and table tennis.
The event stood out not only for its sporting excellence but also for promoting the values of unity, equality, and inclusion. Participants experienced the true spirit of friendship and solidarity, while Antalya’s cultural and natural beauty added a unique dimension to the championship.
Turkey’s role as host nation contributed greatly to the development of inclusive sports and provided a global stage for athletes with Down syndrome to showcase their remarkable talents.
The Trisome Games 2024 will be remembered as an unforgettable experience for both athletes and spectators alike.
